Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Models (LLMs)
Cancer Biome and Targeted Therapy recognizes that researchers from non-English-speaking regions may face linguistic barriers in preparing manuscripts for publication. To support inclusivity and global participation in scientific communication, authors are permitted to use AI tools and large language models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT or similar technologies, to correct, rewrite, or improve drafts that were originally written by a human author.
These tools may be used strictly to enhance language clarity, grammar, structure, or style. The intellectual content, analysis, interpretation, and conclusions of the manuscript must originate from the human author(s) and not be generated by AI. In the event of a complaint, misconduct concern, or formal investigation, the journal may request that authors submit the original, human-written version of the manuscript before AI-assisted editing. Authors are expected to retain these drafts for verification purposes.
Use of AI tools for substantive content generation (e.g., generating paragraphs, summaries, or arguments) must be fully disclosed in the manuscript (e.g., in the acknowledgments or methods section) and remains subject to editorial and ethical review.
Disclaimer: The journal and its publisher assume no responsibility or liability for the accuracy, integrity, or originality of content modified or produced using AI or LLM tools. Authors are solely accountable for ensuring that their work adheres to ethical and scholarly standards, regardless of the use of AI-based assistance.
